- Patient search requires two fields entered.
- Always use capitol letters when searching or entering patient information.
- Only allowed to use the wildcard, asterisk key (*), for one field when doing a patient search. Must enter at least 3 letters before you can use the wildcard (asterisk).
- If a patient search yields more than 10 records, you will be asked to provide further information to narrow the search down.
- Mother’s first name is a required field when creating a new patient record.
- TB test and results can be entered and tracked as long as the patient has been disclosed.
- Preferences must be entered. CAIR disclosure and to Share should be set to YES once the patient has been disclosed. TB disclosure must be designated YES if you are to enter TB results. Patients must be disclosed that skin and x-ray test results will be shared in the registry.
- CAIR software is utilized by the BARR (Bay Area Regional Immunization Registry) which consists of nine jurisdictions including: Alameda County, City of Berkeley, City and County of San Francisco, Marin County, San Benito County, San Mateo County, Santa Clara County, Solano County, and Sonoma County.
- Do not use the browser buttons such as the Back or Forward. Always use the screen links.
- Data entry should be done in all capital letters.
- Always use the wildcard, asterisk key (*), when searching for a patient’s last name even if you believe you have the correct spelling. Birth records are entered with two last names and a wildcard key would be needed to find the record.
