  • Helps ensure that your or your child’s immunizations are up-to-date.
  • Provides reminders and/or recalls to let you know when you or your child is due/overdue for an immunization.
  • Protects against over-immunization.

Healthcare Providers

The Bay Area Regional Immunization Registry is an electronic immunization information system that gives providers shared access to the full shot records of Bay Area children in both public and private sectors. Immunization registries provide many benefits such as:

  • Easy access to patient immunization records, including immunizations that were given by other practices and clinics. The immunization registry tracks contraindications and precautions for each patient.
  • Reduced staff record-keeping. The registry is able to print California Immunization Records (yellow card) when patients lose it or need it for school or child care.
  • Makes it easy to keep track of new vaccines and changing immunization schedules.
  • Generates practice data needed for HEDIS reporting, vaccine usage reports, and immunization rates for your practice.
  • Generates lists of patients who are overdue for immunizations. Prints postcards to notify patients of immunizations needed.
  • Tracks vaccine inventory by lot number and manufacturer.
  • Registries can also play a key role in contributing to vaccine safety.
  • Registry User Testimonial from Medical Office Staff

For every $1.00 spent of immunization registries, $2.00 will be saved. In the Bay Area, $3,244,895 is spent annually to maintain an immunization registry resulting in a savings of $6,489,790 annually in cost offsets. Cost savings clearly outweigh the cost of an immunization registry in the Bay Area. For additional information about participating in the registry, please visit our Frequently Asked Questions for Providers, download the Immunization Registry Benefits brochure or download the Provider Benefits brochure.
